Our Cross Country program offers programming for ages 4 and up. See below for a summary of our programs.
Membership to Sea to Sky Nordics, required for registration in all programs, can be purchased here. Passes are required for participants age 7 and up for our winter programs and can be purchased directly from Whistler Olympic Park.

Sea to Sky Masters

Our dryland training program is to help maintain ski fitness or, for the younger skiers that don’t train all year, to jump start fitness for winter. This fall, athletes will learn the basics of off season training. Activities will include hiking, running, games, ski striding/bounding, body weight strength training, and agility and balance.
This program is for athletes 9+ who like to be active outdoors and are interested in the sport of cross country skiing. Please register on zone4.
Devo and Sport program (ages 13+):
Dates: September 11 – November 30
Dryland Frequency: 2-3x/week
Dryland Sessions:
Tuesdays: North Vancouver 6:00 – 7:30
Squamish 5:00 – 6:30
Whistler 5:30-7
Wednesday: North Vancouver 6:00 – 7:30
WOP 5:00 – 6:30 (these sessions are roller ski based and require some experience on roller skis)
Saturday: WOP ~ 1:00 – 2:30

Bunny Rabbits Program Description
(Year of Birth: 2017-2018, ages 4-5)
Our Bunny Rabbits program is directed at children four and five years old (the ‘Active Start’ stage of athlete development). The program is designed to develop fundamental movement skills (with a focus on balance and agility), coordination, self-confidence, imagination and social skills. Parent attendance is generally required.
Ski practice sessions are offered on Sundays at Whistler Olympic Park.
2022/23 Schedule & Fees
Practices: Sundays 10:30-11:30 am at Whistler Olympic Park (1 hour) from December 4 to March 4. See specific dates here.
Program Fee: $125 plus $19 CCBC and Nordiq Canada Membership plus Sea to Sky Nordics Membership Fee (required, can be purchased at time of registration). Please note that payment by credit card is required at time of registration.
Events
The race events are a way for your child (age 5+) to test their ski skills out on the snow. We know a lot of kids are a bit tentative and shy about racing, so registration includes entry fees for Coast Cups. We hope kids come out and give them a try!
Equipment Required

Ski equipment can be rented at Whistler Olympic Park. For second hand equipment, the club is hosting an online Nordic ski swap on our new website. Valhalla Pure, Source for Sports and Whistler Olympic Park, Coast Outdoors, Mountain equipment Coop, and Sports Junkies (2nd hand) all sell Nordic ski equipment.

We are a community club and the success of our programs and events is built on parent participation. Each family is expected to make some volunteer contribution. Jackrabbits Program Description
(Year of Birth: 2013-2016, ages 6-9)
Our Jackrabbit program is directed at children ages 6-9 (the ‘FUNdamentals’ stage of athlete development).
Our Jackrabbits program is divided into four levels, based on ability and experience.
The objective is for children to learn basic cross-country ski skills (classic in Levels 1 and 2; classic and skate skiing in levels 3 and 4, usually birth years 2013 and 2016) and to instill a lifelong interest in the sport, thereby enhancing their quality of life and health.
Ski practice sessions are offered on Sundays at Whistler Olympic Park.

Practice Dates: Sundays 10:30-12:00 (Level 1/2) / 10:15-12:00 (Level 3/4) at Whistler Olympic Park from December 4 to March 4. Please see the calendar for specific dates here.
Program Fee: $185 plus $19 CCBC and Nordiq Canada Membership plus Sea to Sky Nordics Membership Fee (required, can be purchased at time of registration). Please note that payment by credit card is required at time of registration.
The program fee includes free entry into Coast Cups.
The program fee does not include a Whistler Olympic Park season pass. Please purchase a youth pass directly from Whistler Olympic Park here.

Teck BC Track Attack Championships
The BC Championships is an annual event for skiers ages 9-12. This is a fun weekend of skiing somewhere new, often the calendar highlight for young skiers, full of fun races and socializing. If your child would like to attend BC Championships this year with their fellow club members, please contact us as soon as possible to make transportation plans, group hotel bookings etc. For more information click here.
If you are interested in attending Teck BC Track Attack Championships as a group with your club members, please contact the program coordinator once the season gets underway.

Skate skis, poles and boots (levels 3 and 4 only, usually born in 2012 and 2013 with at least one year of classic skiing experience).

Track Attack Program Description
(Year of Birth: 2008-2012, ages 10-14)
Our Track Attack program is directed at children ages 10-14 (the ‘Learning to Train’ stage of development). This is the third level of our Youth Skill Development Program. Track Attack is designed to further develop and refine all the cross-country ski skills, including speed, power and aerobic fitness, strength and flexibility, as well as develop good ski habits.
The objective of our Track Attack program is for the participants to become technically competent cross-country skiers, and to utilize those skills to begin a lifetime of enjoying a wide range of Nordic activities.
The ski practice will alternate between skate and classic technique.
PREREQUISITES
Our Track Attack program is designed for skiers with at least 1 year of both classic and skate cross country ski experience. If your child is 10 years of age or older and is new to cross country skiing, they may need to take a few private lessons and/or be willing to ski in a group with younger children to facilitate the best group placement. Please contact us for further information.

Adventure Skiers Program Description
Adventure skiers is designed for skiers who have taken part in the Track Attack program (or have regularly XC skied with their families), are 13+ years old and want to enjoy recreational/adventure skiing with peers and the social and community oriented part of Nordic skiing. The group will be working towards a fun winter adventure, such as winter camping, during the season. Adventure skiers will meet on Sunday mornings.

Development Team Program Description
(Year of Birth: 2009 and older, ages 13+)
The Devo Team is a program for experienced and competitive skiers who are passionate about cross country skiing and enjoy racing.
Devos will focus on technical skill development and endurance training to build race-ready skiers. Race Devos will commit to two practices a week to ensure a strong development season. Devo racers will practice Sunday mornings at WOP and Wednesday evenings at either Whistler Olympic Park or Cypress.
The program fee does not include a Whistler Olympic Park or Cypress season pass. Please purchase this separately

Sea to Sky Masters Program Description
S2S Masters will take place on Sunday mornings from 10:30-12:00 starting on December 11. We hope to have 2 groups (beginner-intermediate and intermediate-advanced) led by coaches or self-led by group members.
This is not a learn-to-ski program. Some experience with XC skiing is needed.
Each session will have a technique focus with drills and/or a cardio goal. We hope to have guest coaches providing technique instruction in several sessions.
The goal is to provide a group training opportunity where skiers can work on technique and fitness in a social, collaborative environment.
Masters participants are encouraged to try out racing in a fun Coast Cup event at WOP. The club will pay for your entry fee!

REGISTRATION PREREQUISITES
