Jackrabbits

Year of Birth: 2009-2012

Program Description

Our Jackrabbit program is directed at children ages 6-9 (the ‘FUNdamentals’ stage of athlete development). This is the second level of our Youth Skill Development Program.

Our Jackrabbits program is divided into four levels, based on ability and experience.

The objective is for children to learn basic cross-country ski skills (classic in Levels 1 and 2; classic and skate skiing in levels 3 and 4, usually birth years 2009 and 2010 ) and to instill a lifelong interest in the sport, thereby enhancing their quality of life and health.

Ski practice sessions are offered on Sundays at Whistler Olympic Park.

Parent/Guardian Volunteers

A parent/guardian will be asked to participate in 1 or 2 practices throughout the winter.

We are a community club and the success of our programs and events is built on parent participation.  There are many roles available for volunteers, many of which are not a large time commitment.  We welcome volunteers in any role, from coaching to helping at an event, planning and admin roles and more.
