Program Description

Our Masters Biathlon program is a competition-focused training program for experienced biathletes ages 19 and older. The program is structured to optimize performance in provincial and regional biathlon competitions.

Our Masters Biathlon program has two seasons, Fall and Winter. Fall season is from September 12th to November 29th and Winter season is from December 2nd to March 11. Masters can register for both seasons or for just Winter.

Prerequisites

– previous participation in our Masters Biathlon program or Recreational Biathlon program, or equivalent experience
– register with Biathlon Canada as a “Masters Athlete”
– have a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL)
– have your own biathlon rifle or rent one from the club

Equipment Required

Masters must provide their own trail passes, biathlon rifle and ski equipment.

There are a limited number of biathlon rifles available for rent at a cost of $300 for the fall and winter season. If you are interested in renting a rifle please contact Clay at clayton@claytonwhitman.ca.

What is Included in the Program Fee

The program fees below include ammunition and coaching for training sessions.

An additional “team fee” will be applied for coaching, race ammunition and waxing at competitions.

Trail passes and entry fees for competitions are not included in the program fee.

Fall Sessions, Dates and Fees

Our Fall season is from September 12th to November 29th.

Up to four Fall Training sessions per week are being offered, with sessions in North Vancouver, Squamish, Whistler and Whistler Olympic Park.

Tuesdays – $200

– dryland only (no shooting)
– 12 sessions (September 12 to November 28)
– choose between North Vancouver, Squamish or Whistler (18:30-20:00)

Wednesdays – $200

– dryland only (no shooting)
– 12 sessions (September 13 to November 29)
– choose between North Vancouver, Squamish or Whistler (18:30-20:00)

Saturdays – $500

– dryland and shooting
– 11 sessions (September 16 to November 25)
– at Whistler Olympic Park (9:30-15:30)

Sundays – $500

– dryland and shooting
– 11 sessions (September 17 to November 26)
– location TBD (Whistler Olympic Park or Squamish Legacy Sports Park) (9:30-15:30)

Winter Sessions, Dates and Fees

Our Winter season is from December 2nd to March 11.

Mid-week sessions are offered at Cypress, Lost Lake and Whistler Olympic Park, and focus solely on skiing (no shooting).

Weekend sessions are at Whistler Olympic Park, featuring skiing and shooting training.

Tuesdays – $200

– skiing only (no shooting)
– 13 sessions (December 5 to March 6, no session on December 26)
– choose between Cypress (18:30-20:00) and Lost Lake (18:30-20:00)

Wednesdays – $200

– skiing only (no shooting)
– 13 sessions (December 6 to March 7, no session on December 27)
– choose between Cypress (18:30-20:00) and WOP (17:00-18:30)

Saturdays – $600

– skiing and shooting
– 13 sessions (December 2 to March 10, no session on December 23 or 30)
– at Whistler Olympic Park (9:30-15:30)

Sundays – $600

– skiing and shooting
– 13 sessions (December 3 to March 11, no session on December 24 or 31)
– at Whistler Olympic Park (9:30-15:30)
