2018/2019 Program Registration

Program Description

Our Masters Biathlon program is a competition-focused training program for experienced biathletes age 19 and older. The program is structured to optimize performance in provincial and regional biathlon competitions. The goal of our 2018/2019 season is to prepare athletes for participation in the Canadian Biathlon Championships in Whistler on March 26-31, 2019.

Registration Prerequisites

In order to register in our Masters Biathlon program, you must meet the following prerequisites:

– previous participation in our Masters Biathlon program or Recreational Biathlon program, or equivalent experience
– 2018/2019 membership with the Sea to Sky Nordics (memberships can be purchased starting in September)
– register with Biathlon Canada as a “Masters Athlete”
– have a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL)
– have your own biathlon rifle

Equipment Required

Masters must provide their own trail passes, biathlon rifle, ammunition, ski equipment (skis, poles and boots, for skate and classic), and skate roller skis.

What is Included in the Program Fee

Program fees cover lane fees and use of club trailer/equipment/practice plans at training sessions.

An additional “team fee” will be applicable at competitions for coaching and waxing.

Trail passes and entry fees for competitions are not included in the program fee.

2018/2019 Schedule

Our Masters Biathlon program has two seasons, Fall and Winter. Fall season is from September 11th to November 21st and Winter season is from November 24th to March 16th.

Training sessions are available on Saturdays and Wednesdays.

Saturdays feature shooting and skiing training at Whistler Olympic Park, from 10:00-15:00.

Wednesday sessions are offered in North Vancouver, Squamish and Whistler in the fall, and at Cypress, Lost Lake and Whistler Olympic Park in the winter. Times are from 17:00-18:30 in Squamish and Whistler, and from 18:30-20:00 in North Vancouver/Cypress.

Fall Season

Saturdays (10 sessions): Sep 15,22,29, Oct 6,13,20,27, Nov 3,10,17
Wednesdays (11 sessions): Sep 12,19,26, Oct 3,10,17,24,31, Nov 7,14,21

Winter Season

Saturdays (15 sessions): Nov 24, Dec 1,8,15, Jan 5,12,19,26, Feb 2,9,16,23, Mar 2,9,16
Wednesdays (15 sessions): Nov 28, Dec 5,12,19, Jan 2,9,16,23,30, Feb 6,13,20,27, Mar 5, 12

2018/2019 Program Fees

Winter Season

Saturdays (15 sessions): $300, or $25 per session drop-in fee
Wednesdays (15 sessions): $150, or $15 per session drop-in fee
