Program Description

Our Masters Biathlon program is a competition-focused training program for experienced biathletes age 19 and older. The program is structured to optimize performance in national, provincial and regional biathlon competitions.

Spring Training

In May and June we are offering a weekly dryland biathlon training program featuring shooting training, combined with a mix of dryland training activities, including running, biking, rollerskiing, strengthening, agility/balance exercises, and other ski-specific and general activities which keep training fun and challenging.

Registration Prerequisites

In order to register in our Masters Biathlon program, you must meet the following prerequisites:

– previous participation in our Masters Biathlon program or Recreational Biathlon program, or equivalent experience
– current membership with the Sea to Sky Nordics (memberships can be purchased starting in May)
– be registered with Biathlon Canada as a “Masters Athlete”
– have a Possession and Acquisition Licence (PAL)
– have your own biathlon rifle

Schedule and Dates

2019/2020 Dryland Season

The dryland training program incorporates shooting training sessions and physical training sessions.

There are three options for the shooting training. Choose among Wednesdays, Saturdays, or both. All shooting training sessions will be at the Squamish Legacy Sports Park.

– Tuesdays 18:30-20:00, 8 sessions from May 7 to June 25
– Saturdays 10:00-15:00, 8 sessions from May 4 to June 29

Registration in the Masters Biathlon dryland training program includes free access to our physical dryland training sessions, on Thursdays, from May 9 to June 25. These physical training only sessions (no shooting) are offered at three locations/times:

– North Vancouver (18:30-20:00)
– Squamish (16:00-17:30)
– Whistler (18:30-20:00)

Program Fees

2019/2020 Dryland Season

Saturdays: $450
Tuesdays: $250
Saturdays and Tuesdays: $650

Program fees do not include ammunition – Masters must provide their own ammunition.

Equipment Required

Masters must provide their own biathlon rifle, ammunition, and skate roller ski equipment.
