Sea to Sky XC Masters

Our dryland training program is to help maintain ski fitness or, for the younger skiers that don’t train all year, to jump start fitness for winter. This fall, athletes will learn the basics of off season training. Activities will include hiking, running, games, ski striding/bounding, body weight strength training, and agility and balance.
This program is for athletes 8-13 who like to be active outdoors and are interested in the sport of cross country skiing. Please register on zone4.
Dates:
Sundays, September 10 – October 29 (no session October 8) 10:00 to 11:15am
Tuesdays (to be confirmed), September 12 – October 24 4:00-5:15pm
Cost: $80 per Sunday or Tuesday, $160 for 2X per week

Bunny Rabbits Program Description
(Year of Birth: 2018-2019, ages 4-5)
Our Bunny Rabbits program is directed at children four and five years old (the ‘Active Start’ stage of athlete development). The program is designed to develop fundamental movement skills (with a focus on balance and agility), coordination, self-confidence, imagination and social skills. Parent attendance is generally required.
Ski practice sessions are offered on Sundays at Whistler Olympic Park.
2023/24 Schedule & Fees
Practices: Sundays 10:30-11:30 am at Whistler Olympic Park (1 hour) from November 26 to March 17, with some days off for holidays and race conflicts. See specific dates here.
Program Fee: $140 plus $21 CCBC and Nordiq Canada Membership plus Sea to Sky Nordics Membership ($30 adult, $60 family, required, can be purchased at time of registration). Please note that payment by credit card is required at time of registration.
Events
The race events are a way for your child (age 5+) to test their ski skills out on the snow. We know a lot of kids are a bit tentative and shy about racing, so registration includes entry fees for Coast and BC Cups. We hope kids come out and give them a try!
Equipment Required
Classic skis and boots, poles are not used until Jackrabbits.
Parent/Guardian Volunteers
We are a community club and the success of our programs and events is built on parent participation. Each family is expected to make some volunteer contribution. We need volunteers in many roles, from coaching to parent helping, to assisting at an event, planning and administration roles and more. Information on volunteer roles can be found here.

Jackrabbits Program Description
(Year of Birth: 2014-2017, ages 6-9)
Our Jackrabbit program is directed at children ages 6-9 (the ‘FUNdamentals’ stage of athlete development).
Our Jackrabbits program is divided into four levels, based on ability and experience.
The objective is for children to learn basic cross-country ski skills (classic in Levels 1 and 2; classic and skate skiing in levels 3 and 4) and to instill a lifelong interest in the sport, thereby enhancing their quality of life and health.
Ski practice sessions are offered on Sundays at Whistler Olympic Park.
2023/24 Schedule & Fees
Practice Dates: Sundays 10:30-12:00 (Level 1/2) / 10:15-12:00 (Level 3/4) at Whistler Olympic Park from November 26 to March 17. Please see the calendar for specific dates here.
Program Fee: $205 plus $21 CCBC and Nordiq Canada Membership plus Sea to Sky Nordics Membership Fee ($60 per family, required, can be purchased at time of registration).
The program fee includes free entry into Coast and BC Cups.
The program fee does not include a Whistler Olympic Park season pass. Please purchase a youth pass directly from Whistler Olympic Park here.
Events

Teck BC Track Attack Championships
The BC Championships is an annual event for skiers ages 9-12. This is a fun weekend of skiing somewhere new, often the calendar highlight for young skiers, full of fun races and socializing. If your child would like to attend BC Championships this year with their fellow club members, please contact us as soon as possible to make transportation plans, group hotel bookings etc.
If you are interested in attending Teck BC Track Attack Championships as a group with your club members, please contact the program coordinator once the season gets underway.

Skate skis, poles and boots (levels 3-4 only).
Ski equipment can be rented at Whistler Olympic Park. For second hand equipment, the club is hosting a classified ads on our website. Valhalla Pure, Source for Sports and Whistler Olympic Park, Coast Outdoors, Mountain equipment Coop, and Sports Junkies Broadway (2nd hand) all sell Nordic ski equipment.

Track Attack Program Description
(Year of Birth: 2008-2013, ages 10-15)
Our Track Attack program is directed at children ages 10-15 (the ‘Learning to Train’ stage of development). This is the third level of our Youth Skill Development Program. Track Attack is designed to further develop and refine all the cross-country ski skills, including speed, power and aerobic fitness, strength and flexibility, as well as develop good ski habits.
The objective of our Track Attack program is for the participants to become technically competent cross-country skiers, and to utilize those skills to begin a lifetime of enjoying a wide range of Nordic activities.
The ski practice will alternate between skate and classic technique.
PREREQUISITES
Our Track Attack program is designed for skiers with at least 1 year of both classic and skate cross country ski experience. If your child is 10 years of age or older and is new to cross country skiing, they may need to take a few private lessons and/or be willing to ski in a group with younger children to facilitate the best group placement. Please contact us for further information.

Sea to Sky Masters Program Description
The S2S Masters group provides an opportunity for intermediate xc skiers to work on technique
and fitness in a social, collaborative environment. Each session will have a technique focus with
drills and/or a fitness goal lead by a level 1 NCCP coach. We hope to have guest coaches
providing specific technique instruction in several sessions. The majority of sessions will focus
on skate technique, with some classic sessions based on group preferences.
On-snow training sessions will take place on Sunday mornings from 10:30-12:00 starting on
November 26. Specific dates TBD soon.
Informal dryland training sessions will take place Sunday mornings at the Squamish Legacy Park
from 9:00-10:30 September 24th until we are skiing on snow. No session on October 8, 22, and
November 26. Dryland training sessions include ski-specific strength and fitness activities. Bring
classic height ski poles. There is no additional cost for dryland training.
Registration: *participants must be Sea to Sky Nordics and CCBC members for insurance
purposes*
REGISTRATION PREREQUISITES
This is not a learn-to-ski program. Some experience with XC skiing is needed. If you are
interested in a beginner/learn-to-ski program, Whistler Olympic Park is offering adult programs
geared to every skill level.
2023-2024 SCHEDULE & FEES
Practice Dates: Sundays 10:30-12:00 noon at Whistler Olympic Park from November 26 to December 17 2023, January 7 to March 17 2024 (with some days off for race conflicts, stat holidays, and weather cancellations, see teamsnap for final schedule)
Program Fee: $100 plus $19 CCBC and Nordiq Canada Membership plus participants must be members of S2S Nordics and CCBC (fees outlined below).
